Rhino Babies!        New Arrivals         Our Rhino Family

Rhino Fund Uganda (RFU), in partnership with Uganda Wildlife Authority and Ziwa Ranchers Ltd, welcomes you to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.  Our sanctuary was created to reintroduce rhinoceros to Uganda which have been extinct since 1982.  Our 70 square kilometer sanctuary in pristine bush country is currently home to the only wild rhinos in Uganda.  Our long term goal is to build a sustainable rhino population and relocate rhinos back to their original habitat in Uganda's protected areas. In addition to the rhino breeding program, Rhino Fund Uganda also runs community upliftment and education programs in the surrounding villages.

Come visit us!  Come take a walk and meet our rhinos.  We are conveniently located in the Nakasongola district just off the Gulu highway between Kampala and Murchison Falls.  We offer rhino tracking ventures (lasting 1-2 hours), accommodations, and a restaurant all in a beautiful surrounding.  In addition to rhinos, vervet monkeys, bush buck, crocodile, hippo, and a huge variety of bird life, among many others, call Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary home.
